The Marcellus School district will be hosting this tournament at CS Driver MS, located at 2 Reed Parkway, Marcellus, NY 13108. The flyer with tournament and registration information is attached.
Time for schools to get their chess teams registered in what looks to be a large event.
The registration fees are as follows:
Individual: $12 if registering in advance, no later than Saturday, 11/18. $20 if registering late on Sunday 11/19 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
Family rates: Families entering 2 or more players in advance will be charged only $10 per player if registered in advance no later than Saturday, 11/18. $20 each if registering late on Sunday 11/19 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
School Team rates:
$12 each for 4 players or less;
$10 each for 5or more players;
$8 each for 10 or more players;
$7 each for 15 or more players;
$6 each for 20 or more players
Please remember that By participating as a player, coach, or spectator, at the 2017 Marcellus Thanksgiving Scholastic Chess Tournament, you agree that CS Driver MS, the Marcellus School District, the chess tournament and any staff or tournament volunteers, will not be held liable for any physical injuries occurring to you or any family members, while attending this event.
We need your help in promoting this event. We would greatly appreciate your help in promoting this chess championship event throughout Central NY! Especially important is to get this chess tournament news into all schools in the area, by contacting your district office, school administrator, librarian, School Guidance counselor, etc. Posting a copy of the attached flyer in your school, Local libraries, community centers, etc. would be great. Any and all help is appreciated. Get your friends, neighbors and relatives to play.

Chess lessons to help improve your game: For those students looking to improve their chess game for this coming Central NY Chess tournament season, Private chess lessons are the way to go. My name is Bob Nasiff, and I am a U.S. Chess Federation National Life Master with years of experience teaching chess. My former students have gone on to win championships at the local, state and national levels. I presently teach chess in school programs and privately, as well as direct and help organize all of the scholastic chess tournaments in Central New York (I am a U.S. Chess federation National Tournament Director as well).
